Butler & Rose 1.5 Bowl Ceramic Kitchen Sink - Reversible Drainer
The 1.5 bowl ceramic sink from Butler & Rose is a beautifully simple, elegant kitchen sink for modern and traditional kitchens.
Ceramic kitchen sinks are a brilliant option for a number of reasons... Ceramic is naturally hard-wearing, scratch, and impact-resistant, and it doesn't stain or mark easily. You can put a hot pan straight in without worrying about the heat damaging the sink. This range of sinks from Butler & Rose are made from fireclay ceramic, and has a smooth, high quality glaze that looks fantastic and lasts for many years. Butler & Rose offer a 10 year guarantee with all of their range, although you are very unlikely to make a claim as the quality is excellent, and they are very low-maintenance.
The drainer can be situated either on the left or the right of the bowl. The tap hole is partially pre-scored in both potential positions, so your installer will simply knock out the correct position before installation, allowing the tap to be positioned at the back of the sink regardless of whether you wish to have the drainer on the left or right-hand side.

Please note: This fireclay ceramic sink may have a tolerance of +/-3% on the specified measurements. This is due to the manufacturing process. As fireclay ceramic is a natural material, once it has been fired in the kiln it can expand or contract ever so slightly causing slight fluctuations to the measurements stated above and in the spec box. For this reason, we strongly recommend that you wait until you have received your sink and can measure it for templating purposes before making any cuts in your worktop. Ceramic disc cartridges need only a 90-degree rotation to fully open or close, and the 2 ceramic plates are incredibly hard-wearing and resilient. They're more expensive to make, but they allow for a huge range of designs, easy operation and simple maintenance if needed.
Whilst it is rare for a ceramic cartridge to need replacing, you may very occasionally need to remove and rinse the cartridge if grit or debris within the water system is preventing the 2 plates from closing properly. Much like replacing a rubber washer, this is a quick and easy job, and will ensure many years of use.
This tells you how many holes there are on the sink to mount your kitchen tap.
For sinks with a reversible drainer (one that can be on the left or right) the pre-drilled or pre-scored tap holes will be on both sides of the sink.
For sinks with a handed drainer, the pre-drilled or pre-scored tap holes will only be on one side of the sink.

Due to the natural manufacturing process, the true size of our ceramic items may be slightly different from the size listed on our website. Ceramic tolerance is an indication of how much your product could deviate from the size you see on our product page.
When purchasing ceramic products, it’s a good idea to check the ceramic tolerance before installing pipework, and if purchasing a ceramic sink, waiting for it to arrive before cutting a worktop.

Minimum Water Pressure
Your water pressure depends on your home's water system. It’s important to consider water pressure when buying a new tap or shower. Buying a product with a minimum water pressure that’s too high for your home will result in poor performance.
- With a combi boiler you can usually expect between 1 and 2 bar
- With a gravity system (cold water tank in attic) you may have as little as 0.1 or 0.2 bar upstairs, and perhaps 0.5 bar downstairs
- With a high pressure unvented system (hot water cylinder, no cold water tank) you will generally have between 1 and 3 bar
You can install an item with a low minimum pressure rating on a high pressure system, but avoid installing an item with a high minimum rating on a low pressure system! Read our guide to water pressure to learn more.
